Are Your Household Products Causing You Cancer?

Are Your Household Products Causing You Cancer? WHO Finally Admits They Are.

A WHO (World Health Organization) study admits that certain household chemicals cause cancer, birth defects,  and a host of other health issues. In the study, WHO says that certain common household products pose severe health problems, such as cancer, asthma, reduced fertility and even birth defects. This admitission by WHO, though, comes only after many people have suffered from the effect of chemicals sold by companies that had some sort of prior knowledge of the stated effects.

The agency even went so far as to suggest there are certain 'gender-bending' compounds found in PVC flooring, kids' toys and even credit cards should be banned in order to protect future generations. Seriously! Gender-bending compounds? So not only do you have to worry about you and your family getting some malignant cancer or other pernicious disease, but you also have to worry about whether or not your childs gender will be influenced by the stuff under your sink, in their toy box, or in the floors and walls.

The researchers at WHO also have linked other health issues (breast, prostate and thyroid cancers, testicular problems, developmental effects on children's nervous systems, attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity in kids) to the effects of these endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs).Here is a piece of the article:

"Human health depends on a well-functioning endocrine system to regulate the release of certain hormones that are essential for functions such as metabolism, growth and development, sleep and mood. Some substances known as endocrine disruptors can alter the function(s) of this hormonal system increasing the risk of adverse health effects. Some EDCs occur naturally, while synthetic varieties can be found in pesticides, electronics, personal care products and cosmetics. They can also be found as additives or contaminants in food.

The UN study, which is the most comprehensive report on EDCs to date, highlights some associations between exposure to EDCs and health problems including the potential for such chemicals to contribute to the development of non-descended testes in young males, breast cancer in women, prostate cancer in men, developmental effects on the nervous system in children, attention deficit /hyperactivity in children and thyroid cancer."

Well people, if you believe that this information is just becoming known then you're as foolish as they hoped you'd be. If this information is being made available to the public by such a large and global organization, then you can be absolutly certain that it was already know the those 'who needed to know'. This isn't to say that every ailment and sickness we deal with is related to some household chemical, but one thing is certain: a great amount of them are. And this is straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.

Anxiety Disorders: What are They and do I have One?

Anxiety Disorders: What are They and do I have One? Read This to Find Out.

There are a number of stressful medical conditions affecting Americans, but one of the broadest topics is anxiety disorders. Millions suffer from anxiety disorders to some degree or another, and the specific disorders vary greatly from person to person. Anxiety orders grow progressively worse without treatment, so if you think you may be suffering from one of these illnesses, see your doctor immediately.

Here are some general symptoms: (used from http://www.anxietycentre.com/)

One of the most common kinds of anxiety disorders is panic disorder. This disorder is one in which the person have unexpected panic attacks repeatedly. These have a range of intensities and can be controlled with medical care and behavioral control. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is also very common. With this anxiety disorder, the sufferer had uncontrollable and unwanted urges to perform a certain task, such as brushing their hair a certain number of times.

There are also types of anxiety disorders that do not have to do with genetic conditions. The most readily available examples of this are from Post-Traumatic StressDisorder (PTSD) victims. These anxiety disorder patients have persistent frightening thoughts and memories of an event that was extremely stressful, such as a car wreck or a military battle.

Phobia also fall under the category of anxiety disorders. People can fear a number of things, including small spaces (claustrophobia), spiders (arachnophobia), or any number of other things. Phobias are usually irrational and very intense and proximately to the feared item or being placed in the feared situation will usually cause a panic attack.

Many people suffering from an anxiety disorder are simply diagnosed with GAD, or Generalize AnxietyDisorder. GAD is a condition in which the person is experiencing anxiety and worry in levels higher than typical, but they are not having panic attacks or experiencing other medical conditions.

Anxiety disorders can affect all people, regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, or gender. The good news is that the medical treatment for these disorders is getting more and more influential every day. The key is to catch the anxiety disorder problem before it begins to ruin your life. A doctor can than help you treat your condition in order to help you regain or maintain in control of your life. It is absolutely crucial to see a doctor. Each anxiety disorder is different, and each specific disorder is different within each person experiencing it. If you truly want to do what is best for your body, see a doctor about anxiety disorders at the slightest inclination that something is wrong.

FDA Approves Genetically Modified Flu Vaccine

It's Not The Flu You Should Be Afraid Of!

I understand that there is a place for flu shots. I know that especially for young people and elders the flu can be fatal. But what I don't like is the idea of just being inoculated with something I can't be sure is helping or harming me.

The FDA has now approved a new flu vaccine, and this vaccine is the first ever to contain genetically-modified (GM) proteins derived from insect cells. Why? Because it's supposed to help facilitate the creation of more vaccines at a faster rate.

The traditional way vaccines are created is by using egg cultures, but now that's not good enough. So now vaccine manufacturers will be able to produce large batches of flu virus protein using these genetically modified ingredients at a faster rate, thus increasing profits for the vaccine industry. And this, we know, is what it is really all about. There is no concern for side effects. The FDA seems to do this a lot: Approve some new medicine, then after hundreds or millions or billions are made, thousands of people have died, they then come out and remove the product from the market.

We better be careful about what we allow to be put into out bodies and into the bodies of those we say we love. What you think is going to help you might just be the death of you!

Burger King Admits To Putting Horse Meat In Food

You Might Want To Have It Another Way!

Now we know that fast food isn't the healthiest food to eat. We also know that there are preservatives and things of that nature in the food they provide. But what do we actually know about the 'meat' they give us? Well, in the case of Burger King evidently not much!

According to an article by Fox News: "Burger King, one of the most popular fast-food chains in Britain, said on Thursday it had stopped using one of the firms caught up in the scandal of supplying grocers with beef that contained horse meat.
The British food industry has been rocked by the revelation last week that retailers including market leader Tesco and smaller chains Aldi, Lidl and Iceland had sold beef products that contained horse meat.

Cardio: What Is It Good For?

You may know that you have to work out, but it's the doing part that we often struggle with. Excuses are not hard to find. Does this sound familiar: I work too much. I just don't have enough time. I'm always tires. I need someone to teach me.

Well none of these excuses are so insurmountable that we can't find a way to fix them.

There are many incentives to working out. The most important of these, however, is the fact that exercise improves your overall health. It helps both your physical and mental well being to improve.

Here are some top reasons that should motivate you to exercise:

Manage Stress Levels: Exercise causes the brain to release endorphins, which in turn helps you to feel happier and less stressed.

Increase Immune Strength: Your body can fight off colds and other diseases because of exercise. Why? Part of the reason is that exercise causes you to sweat, which in turn helps your body get rid of toxins.

More Control Over Your Weight: It's simple. Exercise helps burn calories, fat, and increases your metabolism.

Strengthen Your Bones: An active lifestyle benefits bone density.

Much Better Sleep At Night: Studies have shown that those who exercise get more REM sleep. This is that deep sleep that you need at night to feel energized in the morning. Your sleep is deeper and you wake up less through the night.

Relieve Back Pain: Increasing muscle strength and endurance  helps to improve flexibility and posture. This leads to stronger back muscles, meaning less back pain.

Fight Depression: Many studies show that exercise promotes positive mental health and reduces symptoms of depression.

Heart Disease Prevention: Lack of physical activity is one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. There is a direct relation between physical inactivity and cardiovascular death.

Keep Your Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Levels Low: Low physical activity increases the risk of hypertension. Regular exercise training seems to be effective in reducing blood pressure. Trying out some different types of exercise fitness equipment may be one way to go (i.e. treadmills or elliptical equipment.). Physical exercise favorably influences blood cholesterol levels by decreasing LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and total cholesterol and increasing HDL cholesterol.

Lower Risk for Type 2 Diabetes: Exercise can promote healthy blood sugar levels in the body. Exercise help your body use up glucose (one form of sugar), which is usually high in those who are overweight and inactive. This could eventually lead to insulin resistance (type 2 diabetes) because your body can no longer properly use the glucose in the body. Read more here: Insulin Resistance

Live Longer: People who are physically active, live longer. Regular physical activity provides benefits to men and women of all ages.

How Women Take Better Care of Their Health Than Men

by G Folka

It’s a known fact that women take better of their health than men. Why is that? It appears that men consistently misperceive their level of risk according to psychologist Will Courtenay, author of Dying to Be Men. And that misperception can allow serious ailments to go undetected. Have you ever noticed that even when something is clearly wrong, us guys sometimes endure the pain? Studies find men are more likely than women to ignore a medical problem. It is time we manned up and take a cue from the opposite wiser sex.

Doctors: Your Lifeline

It is a known fact that men are twice as likely as women to say they have not seen a doctor in the past year; this according to a 2010 CDC survey. Men also lag behind women in visits to their dentist. Women annually have a routine visit to their gynecologist. “That is just part of being a women”, says Courtenay. Men, however, do not, on average, have annual checkups. This is no wonder as fathers fail to teach their sons about regular checkups to prevent problems before they become serious. Needless to say, it is really important that you talk with your doctor about your health. Having a physical every year won’t kill you but going less often just might.

Fluoride: What It Does to Your Teeth -- Opposing Views

What is Dental Fluoride and How Does it Affect My Teeth?

by

The type of toothpaste you use has a significant effect on the health and durability of your teeth. Since childhood we have heard of fluoride and how it helps strengthen our teeth. But what is fluoride?

Fluoride is a chemical that occurs naturally in the body as calcium fluoride and is mostly found in the bones and teeth. It is added to the water by many local governments to help prevent tooth decay and strengthen the teeth’s enamel. When we drink the water the fluoride is taken up by the teeth and strengthens them, helps resist acid, and block the cavity-forming action of bacteria.

Fluoride is also added to toothpaste for the same cavity preventing reasons as it is added to water. For this reason it is important that you and your child in particular begin using the right types of toothpastes because of the dental fluoride in which it contains. Toothpastes which contain fluoride help to strengthen teeth and prevent teeth from cavities and other dental diseases that are linked to weak teeth and cavities.

The foods that we eat turn into sugars and acids on our mouths. This acid then breaks down the original tooth enamel and forms tooth decay and cavities. However, good dental hygiene and a toothpaste with fluoride will help to reduce and eliminate these acids which create problems in the tooth’s enamel. The fluoride then goes one step further and it will give the weakened areas of tooth enamel more nutrients in order to return minerals to the surface, creating a stronger tooth enamel.
It is apparent how much dental fluoride affects one’s teeth. Depending on your fluoride intake and the strength of your teeth, your doctor may suggest certain types of fluoride in order to increase your dental hygiene and tooth strength. The two types of fluoride which will be recommended are topical fluorides and systemic fluorides. Topical fluorides are the type of fluorides which are found in your mouth wash and toothpaste along with the dental substances used in the dentist’s office during oral hygiene check ups. The other type of fluoride, systemic fluoride comes in the form of tablets, water, drops or other types of fluoride supplements. Systemic means that is runs through the body’s system. Generally, those adults and children who need to take systemic fluoride are those who do not receive enough fluoride in their diet, normally from their water intake. Some communities do not have fluoridated water which results in a lower level of fluoride intake and the necessity for systemic fluoride.

The intake of fluoride is crucial as it can lead to unhealthy dental hygiene. Such unhealthy dental health can include tooth decay which may result in further dental problems if not treated properly. In this instance, tooth decay can lead to cavities, the rotting the teeth, gum disease and tooth loss. These conditions must be treated and they do not go without pain and discomfort. In order to correct some of these dental problems, one must undergo root canals, bridges, dentures, tooth extractions and much more.

If your water supply does not contain fluoride or you drink bottled water exclusively, it is possible that you and your family suffer from a fluoride deficiency. If you have any doubts about whether you are getting too much or too little fluoride in your water and diet you should consult with your dentist about your fluoride level and the fluoride level of your child.

Do you always feel tired? Do you seem to always forget something? Are you one of those people who get sick a little more than other? Well, while there are many things that you can do about these problems, such as try a better diet and a little more exercise, there are also some natural remedies to help combat these things.

Not everyone is a fan of taking medication, and I'm one of those people. Therefore, I look for as many natural remedies to my problems that I can use in a safe and practical way. Now be careful. Not every 'natural' remedy is worth the money. And not everyone selling these products use the highest quality ingredients. Also, depending on what you use consult a doctor because some herbs can interact badly with other medications. Other than that, here are 3 herbs that may help you out a bit.
